Tasting Notes:
- Eye: A color reminiscent of a fine Rose wine.
- Nose: Subtle hints of cherry, strawberry, rose petal and citrus, layered on top of marzipan, almond, and oak notes. Vibrant fruity notes on both the nose and palate.
- Taste: Delivers satisfying blends of toffee, vanilla, and toasted almonds. These are complemented by delightful notes of cinnamon and clove, typical of spicy riojas.
- Finish: Medium bodied mouthfeel that ends in a long, warm and moreish finish.
Additional Notes:
- Red Hugh O’Donnell is known as one of the greatest heroes of Irish history. As chieftain of a powerful Irish dynasty in northwest Ireland, he led the success of numerous battles against the forces of Queen Elizabeth I.
- Red Earl is a combination of ex bourbon-barrelled grain Irish whiskey and ex-sherry triple distilled malt, matured for 45 months and then merged to spend a further minimum period of 4 months in ex-Rioja casks.
- Rioja casks were chosen for its spicy fruits and as a mark of respect to the resting place of Red Hugh himself near to the Rioja region of Spain.
